DON'T STOP THE HUSTLE

On Friday August 21, 2009, I made my way to Lenox Mall to attend the Grand Opening of the Carol's Daughter store. Though the brand has been recieving rave reviews over the years, my motivation was totally left field. I was on a mission to meet Mr. Steve Stoute (former music executive turned brand marketing guru). Mr. Stoute is responsible for some of your favorite celebrity driven commercials i.e. Jay-Z and HP, T.I. and Mary J. Blige (Chevrolet), Justin Timberlake and McDonald's, LeBron James and State Farm and many more.

So after I made my way beyond the Velvet Rope (Atlanta tries to make everything hollywood, why would you need a Velvet Rope in the middle of the mall, anyway) I quickly approached Mr. Stoute and told him how much of an inspiration he was to me, being a black man coming from the music industry and crossing over into Corporate America and really impacting brands and making a difference for companies bottom lines.

All in all it was a great experience. I realized that I will never lose my intern grind no matter how old I get. I look for ways to get better every day and take advantage of every opportunity I can. Shout out to my man Matt The Mayor of Verden Sports Management Group who also got his impromtu meeting with the Co-Ceo of Translation Advertising & Marketing.
