I have been in attendance at the 2010 National Black Arts Festival since Wednesday, though it didn't officially begin until Thurday. Live from my all access pass I was able to sit stage side during EVERY performance. The music was great, the fans were engaged and the rain was on and off but that didn't matter to the true lovers of music, art, and authentic African dishes.
The sounds of Brazilian assemble Oludune provided Kanye West-like entertainment, with a lead singer that I am sure holds the same level of fame as Rhianna in her native land. Of course sponsors had to have their hand in the festivities. In my previous corporate experience, I am sure this 4 day event accounted for a large portion of their "African-American Dollars" for the Atlanta market.
