Beats By Dre “Studio Colors” [Commercial]

Besides Dr. Dre making a small cameo in the video, it’s pretty cool and tripped out to watch all those people get smashed upside their head with nothing but color. Coincidentally, the commercial is promoting the fact Beats By Dre is coming out with a new line of cool new colors for the headphones.

1.21 Gigawatts: Back To The First Time is on the way and Ludaversal under construction

Last night at a private studio in a secluded Atlanta neighborhood, Ludacris and close members of the DTP Family were listening to club bangers off his soon to be released mixtape entitled "1.21 Gigawatts: Back To The First Time" and began drafting the blueprints which will become his 8th studio album entitled "LUDAVERSAL" (Disturbing Tha Peace Records/Def Jam).

It was a normal studio scene including a lot of Apple computers open, Smartphones ringing, vibrating (NO TWEETING WAS ALLOWED), Conjure Cognac flowing and Soul headphones scattered everywhere like it was a private showroom. The bosses were in the building (Chaka Zulu, Jeff Dixon :: Co-Ceo's of DTP Records and Ludacris' management), new artist were simultaneously learning from their multi-platinum mogul CEO while contributing their creativity to new concepts, and close people of the team that they trust to give an honest opinion of what was being crafted, as well as throwing marketing ideas against the wall, potential video concepts, and discussing the current state of the music biz (not just hip-hop) and where it is going.

After a 12 hour session, empty containers of take out food, empty Conjure bottles, Dead Smartphones, and multiple youtube views that were utilized for reference points, LUDAVERSAL is underway and from the schematics of the blueprints which were rolled out on the table Ludacris is sure to bring home all of hip-hop's hardware and more.

Ludacris to perform at Civil Rights Game

Hometown hip-hop star will entertain at Turner Field on May 14, 2011

By Alden Gonzalez / MLB.com

Ludacris, one of Atlanta's most famous products, will take center stage when the Civil Rights Game heads to his hometown city.

The Braves announced Thursday that the famous rapper will conduct a one-hour performance at Turner Field on Saturday, May 14, the day before the fifth annual Civil Rights Game between the Phillies and Braves.

The performance will take place after the 1 p.m. ET game between Philadelphia and Atlanta and will feature a "special guest," according to a release sent out by the Braves.

"I'm a fan of baseball, and I am honored to be a part of MLB's family and tradition of being a pioneering organization for civil rights and social justice and equality," Ludacris, whose birth name is Christopher Bridges, said in a statement. "I have studied the strides made in baseball and in sports, and the impact they have had on social issues affecting race and race relations in America. The Civil Rights Game week is a celebration of those achievements and a reminder of our ongoing responsibility to continue leveling the playing field for all."

Born in Champaign, Ill., but raised in Atlanta, Ludacris has sold more than 12 million albums domestically and has been nominated for 17 Grammy Awards, winning three. He has also acted in films such as "Crash" and "Hustle & Flow."

With the movie "Crash," Ludacris partnered with writer-director Paul Haggis and the Artists for Peace and Justice to help raise more than $4 million for Haitian relief efforts. He has also raised more than $100,000 for Atlanta flood victims through The Ludacris Foundation, and recently partnered with an Atlanta car dealership to give away 20 cars to those affected by the recession, according to the Braves.

Leading up to the first Civil Rights Game in Atlanta, Major League Baseball will bring back the Baseball and the Civil Rights Movement Roundtable Discussion and the Youth Summit/"Wanna Play?" event for kids, while introducing the two-day Selig Business Conference and a red-carpet screening of the Hank Aaron documentary "Chasing The Dream."

The list of events will range from May 12-15. More information, as well as an opportunity to purchase tickets, can be found at MLB.com/civilrights.com.

This film is directed by a friend of mine Artemus Jenkins aka AJ or as I call him A. I've seen his journey through independent and major artist music videos, b-roll footage and more. Always the quiet person in the room but you know he has something big planned for the world to see and I believe that this film will take his career to new heights.

Congratulations playboy. Keep up the good work.
